Morning Walk

MorningWalk_20201111_850_0749Morning WalkA gent takes a walk on Warwick, Rhode Island's Conimicut Beach with his dogs in the morning weather break.

I record experiences here. These are are places remembered and experienced with profound fondness. Conimicut Point is one of those many places. These are deeply personal.

I grew up on these beaches. Jennie's (a soft ice cream shop) down the street is where I went after fishing for bluefish on summer evenings. I went to Samuel Gorton Junior High School up the street on Draper Avenue. We (my mother and I) picked up a family from the beach area to bring them to Sunday School. There are friends to this day that request photos from this area and who still live here.

This is amongst the places that I am from. In fact, I grew up on nearby Warwick Neck. But being a child of Narragansett Bay, I see things here that remind me of where I started. Conimicut Lighthouse marking the entrance to the Providence River. Looking across to Rumstick Point and where the old M/V "Bay Queen" would appear from "The Gate" at the Warren River.

This morning, the sun shines bright for a few minutes. The clouds will roll in again and it will rain soon. But for a few moments, the sun shines bright. Crepuscular rays are cast through the filter of the clouds. It is beautiful.

Conimicut Morning

ConimicutMorning_20201111_850_0746Conimicut MorningThe clouds roll back on a stormy, foggy morning at Conimicut Point Park. The sun breaks through over the East Passage of Narragansett Bay shining across. The weather will change the view in a few moments.

More of these experiences from this venture are found in our posts, "Narragansett Bay School In Session" and "Sun Between Prudence And Poppasquash".
