A Bridge Between Seasons by Keith R Wahl, Made From RI Gallery

The end of summer is something different in 2020. For some good reasons, we want to wave goodbye and move on to better things. Hiking with my wife and growing boys, I want to hang on to Summer 2020 tightly and not let it go. Our boys are growing fast and I want to hang on to these times; almost as much as I want them to grow and be successful.

As we come to this bridge, the leaves are falling in late August. The nights are cooler and the days are shorter. As a science type, I know that the change in light and the water levels of the year are triggering a natural reaction. That is my rational side. The rest of me knows that the evidence of seasonal change means that as the leaves fall, summer is starting the process of waving goodbye. I am still holding on for a while longer.

The sun filters through the verdant surroundings, yet the leaves fall in late August. Summer's end nears as the mosaic of Fall colors starts to peek around the corner.
