Saint Peter's By The Sea by Keith R Wahl, Made From RI GalleryAs I walked by this beautiful church on an early Monday summer morning, I found myself humming. Saint Peter's By The Sea has beautiful flowers and plantings on its grounds. I invoked the deep humming and singing of my late grandfather, "I come to the garden alone while the dew is still on the roses..." Saint Peter's By The Sea is an English Gothic Church designed by Edwin L. Howland. This structure was first used for worship in 1873 and consecrated in 1874. The building of the bell tower occurred in 1889 designed by Charles Follen McKim of McKim, Mead & White. McKim, Mead & White also designed the Narragansett Casino of Narragansett Towers fame. Several of the exquisite stained glass windows are Tiffany glass.
