September's Early Morning Mists by Keith R Wahl, Made From RI Gallery

I am an early riser. I always have been. As a child, my grandparents would lament my ability to rise at early hours when I slept over.

As a young man, I enjoyed the shipboard 0400 to 0800 watch. I would run my list, grab a cup of coffee, and then catch the sunrise before continuing with my duties.

Today, we have children and a dog. This means rising early, walking the dog, and moving forward with the day.

On this mid-September morning, I took a stroll by the nearby marinas on upper Point Judith Pond. This is where I am at home. Among the boats on a peaceful early morning as the first light breaks. This is the place that I am sharing with you. This is where we see the mysterious morning mists rising off the still waters. The mirror-like surface show filtered reflections. Add in a pier and a classic sailboat, and the picture is complete.
