Ancient Structures At Beavertail by Keith R Wahl, Made From RI Gallery

Walking the grounds of a lighthouse, there are often many outbuildings. There are also the remnants thereof. Lighthouse keeper's residences, oil rooms, and maintenance shacks are among these. Artist and lithographer, Philadelphia's James Fuller Queen (1820-1866) worked on this subject.

At Beavertail Point (Conanicut Island), there are more interesting items found. Bunkers. World War II gun mounts. Radio towers. Radar towers. Some abandoned, declared secret and others repurposed.

On this evening, the Moon appeared over one such abandoned outbuilding. It makes for an interesting view as the surrounding fields roll down to Narragansett Bay.
