"The loftiest towers rise from the ground". ~ Chinese Proverb

Walking the grounds of Beavertail Point, one will happen upon multiples of structures. Towers are among these, and I remember when there were more of them.

At one point there were many radio and radar towers in the area. There has been repurposing and dismantling. I remember a one-time LORAN installation talked about.

And Spraycliff Observatory is at Beavertail. That installation is still shrouded in mystery despite its World War II service.

This tower has some weather and telemetry instrumentation and telemetry upon it. It is less mysterious but makes a wonderful pointer into the early evening sky.
