Water And Shell As Metaphor by Keith R Wahl, Made From RI Gallery

I don't indulge in giving voice to metaphorical expression often. I will make an exception in this case. The image of a shell and an onrushing wave are a vernacular symbolic representation.

The shell stands in perfect stillness. The wave rushes in and surrounds it. It's like life rushing around us as we wait for life to start again. If a stronger wave comes in, the shell will become mobile. Pushed by the blurred rush of the surrounding water.

My belief is that many people feel like this shell.
