I like to spend time meandering. Going to a place, finding a path, and then seeing how far I can go. I often find the best views and greatest treasures by exploring in this fashion.

On this day, I wandered across an area overlooking Wickford Cove and Mill Cove. Looking across, I saw where my uncle once moored his Pearson sailboat. Continuing along the shore, I came across a view of a hidden treasure, Smith's Castle.

The finding of Smith's Castle on a lazy fall Saturday was rewarding. The light moved in the late afternoon offering different highlights by the minute. The reflections moved in the water and the clouds above painted subtle highlights. A classic lazy fall afternoon scene is its own reward.
