"River is time in water; as it came, still so it flows, yet never is the same." Barten Holyday (1593-1661)

A river, or in this case an offshoot stream, is evidence and time and constant change. This is especially true in autumn. The rivers, brooks, and streams move. The leaves fall as does rain or sunshine. Some leaves come to rest, decay, and feed the next spring. Others wash off to another place to do the same.

With a river in autumn, change is the norm. And we know that it will lead to a new blossoming. In the meantime, it is mesmerizing to watch the flow and listen to its burbling sounds.
