Claude Debussy, a composer who passed away in 1915, wove nature's imagery into his music. He once wrote, "There is nothing is more musical than a sunset. He who feels what he sees will find no more beautiful example of development in all that book which, alas, musicians read but too little - the book of Nature. Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine."

Monsieur Debussy must have been thinking about evenings such as depicted here. At sunset as the tide runs out of the Pettaquamscutt River in Narragansett, Rhode Island. The clouds flourish their baton and the sun peaks in its crescendo. Then, the diminuendo paints the final reflection on the piece. And it all ends in a dramatic and beautiful whisper of light.
