Rhode Island Scenes Edit Themselves by Keith R Wahl, Made From RI GalleryThe latest word in photo editing is "sky replacement". I have the technology to perform the task of "sky replacement", but I do not use it. I live on the shore in Rhode Island, the sky here is what should be the "replacement", not the "replaced". These are scenes that set the standard for what a sky and lighthouse should look like. The skies over Narragansett perform with magnificence. The clouds on the leading edge of a storm place a gentle swirl in the blue sky. The swirl highlights Point Judith Lighthouse for me as I observe. I was fortunate that the tide had ebbed to an extreme. I was able to walk out further than usual. I was capturing images for another project that will be the subject of another posting. I looked up and realized that I was able to see the Point Judith Lighthouse in a view that is rarely captured. "Sky replacement" may be nice or even a need for some photographers. I live where we have the real thing. And the sky is lovely and highlights our environment with distinction. We are fortunate. (Note: Select any photo to see in its portfolio in a larger format). Point Judith Lighthouse as taken from below at an extremely low tide. A perspective not often seen with wispy clouds framing the lighthouse from above. © Keith R Wahl, Made From RI/Made From RI Gallery, 2021.
