Chasing That Which Must Be Chased by Keith R Wahl, Made From RI Gallery

Watching shorebirds is nature's echo of an old black and white comedy sequence. The birds move in what appears to be an organized sequence, but it is not at all organized. They all appear to be saying, "We must chase the waves because chase the waves we must!"

Then, as soon as our little friends appear to not have anything else to do, they stop and dip their heads down. Again, their actions appear in unison, but there is no true unity.

We could watch these shorebirds for hours.
