There is a place in Rhode Island where rural farms roll down to the water. The water is the Sakonnet River, the "third passage" of Narragansett Bay. It is a place where nautical charm meets rural appeal.

Finding a driveway post that is actually a spile from the waterfront is not unusual at Sakonnet. Finding a fresh pumpkin from the field in Autumn is not out of the ordinary. They are highlights of the right season in the right place. Discovering the two together in a whimsical presentation is welcome.

The only question that we have is this. Does the salt air preserve the pumpkin as it sits in the sun? We hope that it does.
