On our Rhode Island waterfronts, some sage town elders have chosen to create parks. Places to walk and appreciate life in the area. These are lifestyle venues; places to balance our lives and remind us about what life is all about.

These parks are appropriate when life becomes busy. They are reminders of what is important. We spend so much of our lives worrying about matters that might not be in our control. And then we go back to nature.

And as we run across the color of royalty, purple. Purple wildflowers. Then it all comes into focus. "Consider how the wildflowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these" (Luke 12:27 NIV). And our worries wash away and our thoughts are back in balance.
