The mid-afternoon winter sun still asserts its warmth upon the beach. The clouds show the warm colors of the sun. The rocks absorb the warmth of the sun's energy.
The gulls know this. Nobody told them. They did not make a study of how warm the rocks are. No, they felt the warmth of the rocks. They observed others landing on the rocks of Scarborough State Beach and landed. This was the most comfortable spot around by far.
This is what is special about the Rhode Island shore. It provides visual and physical comfort. And sometimes, this is where we need to gather to enjoy this comfort together.
