Stacked Stone and Shadows 20220918 850_4008Stacked Stones and ShadowsA variety of rocks stacked on Scarborough State Beach. The late afternoon sun casts shadows and the tidal remnant shows the path in the wet sand to Rhode Island Sound.

When a young 'someone' stacked some small stones on the Scarborough Beach, did they know what they created? As the westering afternoon sun sets, shadows are cast showing time. The waves that have met the stones and left trails in the sand recording the tide's ebb.

Some small, innocent hands created an instrument to record time and tide. And this is the best type of discovery; made by happenstance and inspiration.
