Flowers are not always in the sun. In fact, they spend a great deal of time in the shadows. It is the nature of the day.
When the sun does make its appearance, the flowers seem all the more vibrant. Their coming out of the eclipse of whatever might block the sun is hopeful. The dew begins to shimmer on their petals, and we know that they are certain to brighten the day.
