Ferries and ferry companies are more than a seasonal means of transport. They are lifelines that work in the background. This work is often unseen. But the work they do is vital.

Here we have the crew boat associated with a ferry company. This is tracing the western shore of Conanicut Island bound for the wind farms off of Block Island. It is early on an Autumn morning with a chill in the air as the sun breaks. This is their morning commute.
