Sunrises on Narragansett Bay come in different forms and textures. With more than four hundred miles of coastline, this is not a surprise. This sunrise view comes from the West Passage of Narragansett Bay. To be specific, it is the northern section of Narragansett on the URI Bay Campus.

This view looks over Conanicut Island or Jamestown. The clouds tend to settle into the East Passage of the bay near Newport or Aquidneck Island. Aquidneck is also "Rhode Island" proper as per NOAA charts. These settled clouds often form a filter that gives this particular sun ray effect at certain times of the year.

To catalog the sunrise effects of Narragansett Bay and the Rhode Island shore would take a lifetime. There are great variations that differ within a few short miles of one another. But they are definitely worth seeking out.
