Nobody Home 20221106 850_5508Nobody HomeA sun-bleached crab shell carapce on the beach in the village of Jerusalem

A remnant of a life lived rests on the sand in Rhode Island's village of Jerusalem. Sun bleached and empty, we see the life that once lived there. We almost expect movement, but it will not move.

Sun bleached and salt encrusted, the crab's carapace remains. From the view, this shell may be the result of shedding from the previous occupant. It could also be the result of a gull's meal, but it looks like a shed to me due to its pristine, intact, condition. Until the next tide, it decorates the shore.
