Most days at the shore of Rhode Island do not end. No, they melt from the brightness in the west to the gentle hues to the east. They have a gentle shift from day to night that is soothing. It is a gentle ushering from afternoon to evening.
This is why people come by the shore to walk and fish in the evening. It is for the calm. The sound of the waves is there to lull us into a better way. The slow transition of the days soothes the mind and is a balm for the soul.
