We found a rabbit in the middle of urban central East Providence, Rhode Island. A rabbit minding its own business and foraging for food as rabbits do. Loving animals, I had aligned with the camera and took a few photos as our young men looked on.

Then I learned that while wild, the rabbit is a friend of a little girl nearby. And the photos evolved from mere photos to become portraits. And like a velveteen rabbit, everything became a little more real, and became our friend too. This is a rabbit with a purpose, that is to befriend a child.
