Rainy Spring Evening at the Boatyard. Photography and Text by Keith R WahlRainy Spring Evening at the Boatyard Select Image or Title to See in a Larger Format
On a rainy spring evening, the boats are at their docks and on trailers ashore. Some are not yet in the water and are still on jack stands. The drops of rain fall and the boat yard is quiet except for the sound of falling rain. It's a great place to observe. The shapes of the boats with grace and style. The function of each boat becomes evident by reading their lines. Deep forefoots, v-bottoms, steadying skegs, and various propeller diameters pitches. On the leg of one outboard motor, the rain gathers. The glossy painted surface sheds the drops in kind. And in the view, there is a calm allure.
