Summer mornings on Vineyard Sound have haze as a component. It does not affect the breeze when sailing. It does not create a significant reduction in visibility. Haze is an obscuration of the lower atmosphere, caused by fine suspended particles. It's something we accept and enjoy the off the wind sailing.

The sailing is the reason to be out here on the sound. The origin point is inconsequential. The destination is only a place to go. It is the journey where we find the joy.

The sailing is easy. The sheets have the sails trimmed with perfection, the jib not even displaying a single "smile". The swells provide a gentle motion under the keel. This is sailing at its best, and a little haze is part of the morning glow.
