Sunset Observation

Sunset Observation 20220723 850_1532Sunset ObservationA summer sunset view of the observation tower at outbuildings at East Matunuck State Beach in South Kingstown Rhode Island.

The summer sun is part of the story of the beach. We cover ourselves against it. We bathe in it. We use it as a subject of our play at the beach.

It also serves to add life to the beach and its dunes. The beach dunes grow their subtle roses in their sandy hillocks. Some traditional culinary geniuses turn the beach rose's sun kissed hips into jams. And the sun winks back in return.

And in the same of safety, the sun provides observational capability. If the broad crescent of sand was not seen from above, life would be less fun at the beach.

And in so observing the sun, we tend to remember why we wish to observe its setting. We are saying 'good evening' to our sustenance, watcher, and friend.
