Drought Portrait of 2022. Photography and Text by Keith R WahlHonest Photography Select Image or Title to See in a Larger Format I like photography to be beautiful and honest. That means that sometimes a well-executed photograph portrays sincerity. Sometimes that sincerity wraps itself in gravitas. In Rhode Island, one of the topics of the summer of 2022 has been a drought. A severe drought per governmental declaration. Outdoor water restrictions have been the rule. By late August, the results have become plain. The Fall Foliage season, a highlight of the year in New England and Rhode Island, is in doubt. And I portray why this is as we pass through Roger Williams Park. Dry leaves ready to quit their branches are obvious wherever we go. But as the light traverses their transparent forms, these leaves are still beautiful. So, we honor their lives here, and make them part of the portrait of the Summer of 2022 in Rhode Island.
