The Power of the Falls. Photography and Text by Keith R WahlAt last, fortissimo! Select Image or Title to See in a Larger Format - See More Below Walking along a path to find Niagara Falls, the subject embodies the entire area. The thundering rumble sounds more than a mile away. The resonance builds as one becomes closer, closing down conversation with your group. As one approaches, other characteristics make themselves manifest. Mists rise. The air cools. Anticipation builds. Then, as one sees the falls, the bubble of anticipation bursts opens to the expose the glory of awe. The sheer power of the water falling fills the senses. Yet, in a corner, there are delicate wildflowers born of the mist. They say that the distinguished composer Gustav Mahler (1860-1911) said, “At last, fortissimo!” upon encountering Niagara Falls. He found his standard for how to play music with brave and round loudness. We imagine that it enhanced his creations. Would you like to collaborate on photos? We are open to commissions.
