Stories in the Shells

Stories in the Shells 20220911 850_3645Stories in the ShellsA thousand stories in the shells. At a home abutting Roger Wheeler State Beach in Narragansett, RI, people have placed shells from various sojourns in the sands.

Walking along Roger Wheeler State Beach, there was a stairway to an abutting beach house. Near the stairway were various children's water toys. And then, in the sand, I noticed these shells sticking in the sand.

What a wonderful, if childlike, thing to do. Creating bookmarks of multiples of beach stories in the sand using shells. I can imagine that there is someone who is saying, "Remember when we went to the beach to make sandcastles? We picked this shell." It's a perfect way to build family beach memories, one shell and one story at a time.
