Wipeout in the Sun's Spotlight 20220923 850_4156Wipeout in the Sun's SpotlightTwo surfers wiped out in the late afternoon as a wave proceeds off Narragansett Beach. One surfer is in the water and one in the curl of the wave.

When storms are offshore, they come. The waves greet our shores. These waves are an erstwhile gift from "Fiona". And with the waves, people appear. Some to watch, some with boards to surf. It is the surfers who touch the waves and harness their lively kinetic energy.

Here we are at the end of the day on Narragansett Town Beach. The sun is at the horizon offering a red and gold glow through the clouds. One surfer is in the water, another wrapped in the wave wiping out. It is all part of the sport; they will get up, paddle out, and do it all again. The spectators watch and utter sounds much like watching fireworks. It's all a beautiful thing.
