The waves of "Fiona" came to Narragansett, and so did the surfers. Deep in September, there were no lifeguards on the beach having departed at Labor Day. So, one ever vigilant gull decided to take up the task. We can see the serious expression on the face.

This one gull marched the seawall by the beach, keeping a weather eye out for those in the water. Every bobbing on the surface seen. Every single wave observed. The motion of each board taken into account. This gull is the self-appointed guardian and is looking out for us all.
