Goodbye Kiss 20220914 850_3732Goodbye KissThe sun trails across the water and kisses a sailing dinghy before it is hauled out for the season. On the Upper Pond in Narragansett, Rhode Island.

An older couple pulled their sailing dinghy out of the water on a mid-September evening. The woman was sad, but she expressed that there had been a lot of rain and there was a need for care. It was obvious that they did not wish to wrap up their summer boating season.

The Sun was in sympathy with these thoughts as it set over the Upper Pond. The ray of light reached across the water placing a gentle starburst kiss, "goodbye for now" on the dinghy's gunwale. And we know that they will meet again, the summer Sun and this boat on Point Judith Pond.
