Haven in the FogMorning in the fog takes on both surreal and serene qualities in this Harbor of Refuge. Yet, nothing is as it seems. It is the nature of fog. It amplifies as much as it subdues.

There is sound enhancement. We hear every wave. The gulls' wings beating against the dense, misted air amplifies. The heavy sound of the diesel engines of the tug towing a barge amplifies.

The air pressure change gives the appearance of glassy calm on the water. But there are waves sweeping in. And our vision compresses, changing our perceptions of distance in the murk.
