There is a relationship, at least in Southern New England, as many farms roll to the waterfront. I have found myself in many of these buildings over the years. From a construction standpoint, barns on the waterfront and farms make sense. Simple, sturdy, construction of durable materials for storage or other work purposes. At least, this is what the Marine Fisheries officials discovered for their work on Succotash Marsh and Point Judith Pond.
