Backlit Autumnal Orange Red Maple Leaf

Backlit by the autumn sun,
A maple leaf, its hues so bright,
Orange, red, and gold as one,
A fiery, dazzling sight.

It shimmers in the gentle breeze,
A fragile thing, yet full of grace,
A symbol of the changing seasons,
Of time's relentless pace.

I pause to watch its gentle dance,
And feel the beauty in my heart,
This fleeting moment of pure bliss,
A work of art.

But soon the wind will bear it hence,
To fall upon the forest floor,
And join its kin in slumber deep,
Until the spring once more.

Yet though its life is short and sweet,
Its beauty lingers in my mind,
A backlit autumnal maple leaf,
A treasure I shall always find.
