Waning gibbous moon, a crookback bright,
Hanging low in the morning light.
Your silvery glow, a gentle kiss,
Upon the world, you softly miss.

At thirty-seven thousand miles away,
You dance and sway, a cosmic ballet.
Your angle shifts, your distance grows,
Yet still you guide us, where's it goes.

Sun and moon, in cosmic dance,
A cosmic waltz, a spatial trance.
As day and night, their roles they play,
The moon's reflection fades away.

But still we see, your waning grace,
A reminder of the changing face,
Of all that is, and all that's been,
As time unfolds, and seasons spin.

Waning gibbous moon, we bid you hail,
A beacon bright, that guides us all.
May your gentle glow, forever guide,
Our souls, as through the cosmos we glide.
