The Dock Cleat

'Neath the soft glow of twilight's gentle kiss,
A dock cleat stands, a symbol of solidity,
Its sturdy form, a promise of resilience,
As it embraces the line with firm tenacity.

The line, a wyvern of strength, coils around,
In graceful loops, a figure eight's embrace,
Then doubles back, a half hitch's secure bond,
A union forged against the tides' caprice.

The cleat, a steadfast sentinel, unyielding,
Withstands the tug of waves, the wind's wild sway,
Its anchor deep, its purpose clear and steely,
To keep the vessel safe, come what may.

In this tableau of harmony and might,
The cleat and line, a partnership so true,
A silent guardian in the fading light,
A testament to strength that sees us through.
