In the Port of Galilee,
A harbor seal, grey and free.
Eyes like glass,
Whiskers long,
It watches the boats go on.

What Do We Call a Harbor Seal in a Fishing Port?

In the Port of Galilee, on a sunny day,
A harbor seal bobs up, to have its say.
With big brown eyes and whiskers galore,
It asks us a question, we've never heard before:

"Is a harbor seal in a fishing port,
Still a harbor seal, or something more?"

We ponder the question, with a playful grin,
Is it a fisher seal, or a seal within?
A portly seal, or a salty seal?
A seal with a tale, or a seal with a deal?

Perhaps it's a seal of approval,
For the fishermen's hard work and loyal.
Or maybe it's a seal of disapproval,
For the nets that catch its fish, so cruel.

Whatever it is, this harbor seal,
In the Port of Galilee, is a real deal.
So let's give it a cheer, and a wave hello,
To the seal who's asking us, "What am I, you know?"
