Autumn leaves held tight,
Rough bark, silent guard.

Within the Knothole

In autumn's gentle, fading light,
A tree stands tall, its bark so bright.
With gnarled and twisted arms it reaches high,
A beacon against the darkening sky.

Within a knot, a secret lies,
A treasure trove to catch the eyes.
A nest of leaves, in shades so deep,
Where autumn's hues in slumber sleep.

From gold to amber, rich and warm,
A tapestry woven by nature's form.
A symphony of colors, soft and slow,
A masterpiece where dreams may grow.

The leaves, once green, now touched by time,
Bear witness to the winter's chime.
A gentle rustle, a whisper's sigh,
As autumn's lullabies drift by.

In that small hole, a world unseen,
Where nature's wonders intertwine.
A sanctuary for the fallen leaves,
Where autumn's spirit gently weaves.
