Quahog Shell as a Recent Fossil. Photography & Text by Keith R WahlReading a quahog's memoir Quahog Shell as a Recent Fossil Select Image or Title to See in a Larger Format A quahog shell on the tide line at North Kingstown Town Beach. The etches of age are upon the shell. We see a spot with an indentation, as if part of the quahog's growth was against a rock. Red seaweed stains show in the white and gray of the shell. This is why I often refer to these shells as recent fossils and tend to examine the story of their lives. Quahog Shell as a Recent Fossil at North Kingstown Town Beach, North Kingstown, Rhode Island
