Quahog Shell as a Recent Fossil 20230223 850_7159Quahog Shell as a Recent FossilA quahog shell on the tide line at North Kingstown Town Beach. The etches of age are upon the shell. We see a spot with an indentation, as if part of the quahog's growth was against a rock. Red seaweed stains show in the white and gray of the shell. This is why I often refer to these shells as recent fossils and tend to examine the story of their lives.
