South County Equine
A summer morning with horses is a perfect way to start the day

The sun is just starting to rise over the horizon, and the air is still and cool. I'm standing by a split-rail fence on a farm in South County, Rhode Island, and I can hear the sound of horses grazing in the distance.

As I watch, a friendly horse approaches me. He has a gentle face and kind eyes, and he seems to be curious about me. I reach out to pet him, and he nuzzles my hand.

I've always loved horses, and there's something special about being around them on a summer morning. The stillness of the air, the sound of the birds singing, and the gentle presence of the horses all combine to create a feeling of peace and tranquility.

When a horse approaches you in a friendly way, it means that they are curious about you and want to get to know you. Horses are social creatures, and they enjoy interacting with people. If a horse approaches you, it's a sign that they trust you and feel safe around you.

Here are some tips for interacting with horses on a summer morning:

  • Be calm and gentle. Horses can sense fear, so it's important to be calm and relaxed around them.
  • Speak softly and quietly. Horses have excellent hearing, so it's important to speak in a soft voice so as not to startle them.
  • Approach the horse slowly and let them sniff you. This will help them to get to know you and feel comfortable around you.
  • If the horse seems friendly, you can pet them on the neck or shoulder. Be gentle and avoid touching their face or legs.
  • If the horse seems nervous or skittish, give them some space. Don't force them to interact with you if they're not comfortable.
