Flannel Flowers. Photography & Text by Keith R WahlTaking a moment with the September Roses Late September Flannel Toned Roses
As the late September rains fall, the air cools and the late blooming roses take on a flannel texture. Their petals become thicker and more velvety, and their colors deepen. The reds become more burgundy, the yellows become more golden, and the pinks become more velvety. The flannel rose is a beautiful and unique flower. It is a symbol of the changing seasons and the beauty of nature. It is a reminder that even in the midst of change, there is still beauty to be found. The flannel rose is also a reminder of the importance of slowing down and appreciating the simple things in life. On a rainy September day, take a few minutes to step outside and admire the flannel roses in your garden. Take a deep breath of the cool air and let the raindrops wash away your worries.
