Flowing sand is normally a winter phenomenon on the beach. It happens most often when the winds don't have anything to block them when the leaves are off of the trees. The winds just blow down to leeward with nothing impeding them, carrying sand along the way. But this was photographed in September 2023 in the winds produced by Hurricane (or Storm) Lee offshore. This gives an idea of the power of the storm even though it is hundreds of miles away.
