On this fair eve of Valentin's delight,
A silver crescent hangs in moonlit white.
But five days young, since darkness claimed its hold,
It whispers tales of love, both new and old.

With borrowed light, a mere twenty-sevenfold,
It paints the sky with love's embrace, untold.
Though waxing ever, ever changing form,
Love's cycle turns, amidst the celestial storm.

For even as the moon waxes to its prime,
And wanes once more, in nature's ceaseless rhyme,
So too does love, in hearts both great and small,
Know crescendos soft, and gentle, fading thrall.

But though it shifts, and ebbs, and flows anew,
Love's tender flame, within our hearts, rings true.
So raise a glass, beneath this moonlit sky,
And let love's light, forevermore, defy
The passing days, the ever-changing sphere,
For love's soft glow, will conquer every fear.
